SMS(Short Messaging Service) is bad for standard english.Agree or disagree?Why?
I agree with the above motion.
SMS is indeed bad for standard english because it contains short forms like u and r(you and are)and smiley icons like :) (happy).Those short forms are bad because when you write compositions,the short forms or emotional icons are not allowed.Your marks might be deducted and you may fail terribly in that section,causing your marks to be pulled down.In your paper 2,when they are testing you on your grammer,it might not be good too.
What's more,in your comprehension,standard english is needed.You can't possibly answer any question with singlish or short forms.In the end,you will fail your english and it will be shown in your report book.That's quite terrible.
The second reason is when you are messaging to another person,the other person might not understand the short form.They will ask you to explain it again,and you have to waste another message.If your message is very long,retyping it again is certainly hard,and you have to write out without the shortcut.
Okay,that's the end.Bear in mind that you can message but not using shortcuts!!!!!
